Spring Is Here!

Uncle Sean came to visit us last weekend! It was such a nice visit. Weston really, really enjoyed having him around...and so did we! We've been keeping rather busy lately...but busy in a good way! It means we've been seeing lots of people who love us & Weston :)
On Sunday, we put Weston in the church nursery for the first time. I was a little anxious to do it...I've been holding off with cold/flu season and not wanting him to get sick or anything....but it was great! He did so well. There were lots of little ones his age in there and he seemed to really enjoy himself. We basically wanted to stand outside the door and stare at him the entire time. It's so neat to watch babies interact with each other :)

Such a big boy!

Mom, stop, you're cracking me up!

Enjoying the pretty sunshine...but I don't want to wear my sunglasses or my hat!

Hmmm.....

Weekend @ Gamma's

This past weekend was a whirlwind...but so much fun! Eric went to Cincinnati for the weekend to watch March Madness with his friends and Weston & I traveled to GA. I had a party to attend Saturday night and we celebrated Papa's birthday on Sunday. Gamma's Easter Bunny came to visit Weston on Friday night, so Saturday morning Weston enjoyed the festivities and played with his fun stuff. We were a busy little family!!!

I finally got to meet Uncle Len!

...just hanging out with Uncle Brother

My cousin, Lensey, helped me play basketball. She is too much fun!

Our 9 Month Old...

Weston is 9 months old. It's so hard to believe. Where has the time gone? It's so bizarre how fast things are moving. When you're a child growing up, time goes so slow---you're in school and you're counting down the days until summer...then until High School graduation...then college, etc...but time seems to stand still. Things change so rapidly once you have a baby...at first, things move pretty slow...you just want to sleep and you want him to get a little older so he becomes just a little independent...then WHAM! It happens and all you want to do is make it stop. So long are the days when Weston would lay in your lap, allow you to snuggle, or stare at you for hours. Welcome to the days when you're constantly chasing him around the house or holding him down to change his diaper and clothes while he's pitching a fit. As much as we want our baby boy to stay a baby forever, it isn't happening...and we are embracing the every day challenges our little Scooter throws at us. Weston is starting to test us a little...pushing the envelope....our "no-no's" and "stop's" are an every day thing...more like an every hour thing. Our pediatrician said it's very important to start these words early and say them often---he says it's in his best interest, in more ways than one. For example, Weston was given a football nightlight that's in his room...and when he's on the floor in there, you can bet he's going straight for it. It mesmerizes him. As we all know, nightlights are plugged into power outlets and power outlets can shock you. Needless to say, we would not like for Weston to experience electrocution anytime soon. I'm constantly having to tell him "no" when he tries to play with the nightlight. Now that I've rambled on, let's have an update! We took Weston to his 9 month Dr appt on Wednesday morning. He's doing great! Weston has stopped his weight-gaining process and is leveling out...he weighed in at 21.3 lbs, which is in the 60% for his age. He is 28 and 3/4 inches long, which is in the 70% for his age. And, drum roll please, his head circumference is in the 90%. Yes, our boy has a "dome", as Eric would say. All in all, he's a healthy growing boy. And a big boy! He only cried for 3 seconds when he got his shot and didn't budge when they pricked his toe. Let's hope he's this cooperative when he gets older :)

Practicing my standing skills

Mommy & Daddy made the house safe for me...this is the gate at the top of the stairs.

I like to hold hands with my friend, Olivia...we have so much fun together!

Playing outside in the sunshine!

Kara came to Nashville! We had so much fun at our lunch date with her. Come back soon, Kara, I want to hold hands with you again!

Slurpin' on a Sippy Cup

We are desperately trying to get Weston to take a sippy cup...or maybe those aren't the right words. He will take the cup---but not necessarily drink from it. He LOVES to chew on the spout, the handles, and even the bottom of the cup. He loves to bang it around on the table or highchair. But if he accidentally sucks on it and gets juice or water out, it surprises him and he can't stand it. We don't know what else to do! We've tried room temperature, cold, and even warm water and juice. He simply doesn't want anything to do with it. We have one of every kind of cup possible in hopes that he just "hasn't found the one for him" yet, ha...I suppose we'll just keep giving it to him and hope he realizes there are good things in that cup one day!

Fisher is here & Weston is standing!

Weston's future BFF, Fisher Catone, has arrived! Fisher is the beautiful son of Lindsey & Chris...he arrived Feb 25th. Isn't he just a doll? Congratulations, Lindsey and Chris!

Best Friend Moms & Best Friend Babies

Weston has learned to pull himself up!! We were hanging out in the family room and BAM! He just grabbed onto the couch and pulled up. I ran and grabbed the camera, able to snap a few pictures as well as get it on video. The video below is of the very first time (after he was already standing) he pulled up. Disclaimer: No babies were harmed in the production of this film. Weston didn't even cry when he toppled.
