Scooter is Crawling!

We've done a lot lately! First, Happy Valentine's Day! We had so much fun. For our gift to Eric, I got a wooden picture frame and let Weston finger paint with red paint all over it. It was too cute! He had so much fun with it. Second, we went to Chuck-E-Cheese for the first time with Weston to celebrate Cody's birthday (BigBrother/BigSister program). It was so much fun! Weston loved the little rides and the excitement inside the joint was too much to take in. He was staring in awe at everyone and everything. Third, WESTON LEARNED TO CRAWL! ....more to come at the end of the post on that :)
I LOVE TO FINGER PAINT!!

....crawling.....

Scooter (aka Weston) is crawling! He learned to crawl today, Feb 18. We were hanging out in the floor and he was up on his hands and knees, which was nothing new. I picked up a couple barnyard animals that make noises and he decided he wanted them. One hand in front of the other, one knee at a time, he started crawling straight to me! It was great! The video above was only minutes after he figured it out. Amazing!

I'm sure you're wondering who the little girl, Olivia, is in the video. This is Weston's new playmate. I'm now keeping her during the week. She's the same age as Weston and we think it's going to be great for their development as they grow together.

"Where's Weston?" (8 months)

Where's Weston? Can you see him? He's hiding out in his camo gear that he received in Pittsburgh as a Christmas gift from Aunt Pat & Uncle Paul. We definitely took this opportunity to do a photo shoot...too funny! Weston enjoyed every bit of it. And he definitely stayed warm out there in the cold!

Where Am I?

...bet you can't find me!

Weston is 8 months old! UN-BE-LIEVABLE. He's still working on the whole idea of crawling. He is trying so hard---you can see the determination in his eyes...he just can't quite get it together. He totally gets an A for effort, though. He's constantly up on his hands and knees, bouncing, and trying to scoot. But don't get us wrong, if Weston wants to get across the room, he certainly can. He can steam roll anywhere. And, of course, he can still crawl backwards when he takes a notion.
Weston still only has 2 teeth, on the bottom center. It seems like he may be cutting another one, due to the waterfall of drool that has started to come out of his mouth again, but we can't find the source....maybe it's just another round of baby drool we're dealing with.
Again, unfortunately, we've been sick. Weston went to the Dr on Monday and has an ear infection in each ear. Yuck! We knew something was up over the weekend...he just wasn't himself, too fussy. Turns out we were right. Thankfully he's on antibiotics and is showing much improvement! :)
Any ideas on how to get Weston to hold his own bottle? He still wants nothing to do with it. I've tried over and over to just put the bottle in his lap, hold it within his reach for him to grab, and everything else I could think of. But he just cries. He won't so much as reach for it. But when he's finished the bottle, he loves to hold it, chew on it, and play with it.

SnowBaby!

It snowed here in Nashville last weekend...a lot! We ended up getting about 6 inches or so....we took Weston out in the snow on the first day when we only had about 2-3 inches. He didn't know what to think! He was just taking it all in. It was so cold outside so we bundled him up in three layers of clothes, 2 hats, and put socks on his hands. He sat in the snow and tossed his arms about...it was too cute! The snow that was falling kept getting in his eyes and he couldn't figure out what it was. We also put him in his wagon and took him for a little ride in the driveway. It really was so much fun! On another note, Weston is working on crawling. He's to the point where he can go from the sitting position to his hands and knees...and he bounces! He can crawl backwards, a little, but he's convinced to crawl forward any day now. I'll be sure to post pictures when he does!

Look at my cute boots!
